The Doherty Threshold makes the assertion that the optimal computer response time is limited at 400ms.

This applies to our interface animations speeds as well as our loading screens.

In one or few instances, it may seem trivial, until the effect of slow response times start to accumulate, and the navigation and accessibility of an interface becomes unbearable for the user.

For us as designers and developers to be aware and cognizant of human behavior, especially in the context of interacting with computer machines, is essential and directly contributes to designing products and experiences which are not only functional, but ultimately enjoyable as well.
